SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team took some time out from their hectic early season schedule on Friday, Dec. 9 to pay a visit to the patients at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
"It was a great experience," said senior forward Herb Pope (Aliquippa, Pa.) "It's a great feeling to bring a smile to those kids' faces. We spent time talking with them and joking about how good the food was. Doing things like that really helps keep things in perspective and makes you realize all the things we have to be grateful for."
Team members and coaches spent several hours visiting with the patients in the pediatric and burn units.
"We appreciate the Seton Hall coaches and basketball players for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit the Pediatric and Burn Units at Saint Barnabas Medical Center," said Arnold Manzo, a Seton Hall grad and Vice President for Human Resources/Labor Relations at Saint Barnabas. "It is always great to give back during the Holidays. They put smiles on the faces of many of our young patients during their visit. Our relationship with Seton Hall University is a special one."
On the court, the Seton Hall men's basketball team has opened eyes with their impressive play, jumping out to an 8-1 start. The Pirates return to action on Sunday, Dec. 18 when they take on the Mercer Bears in their final home game before BIG EAST Conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for Noon.
