Matusiak Earns AVCA Northeast Region Honorable Mention Nod

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Meghan Matusiak (Winfield, Ill.) earned Honorable Mention status in the Northeast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Tuesday afternoon. Matusiak becomes the first player to be honored with a regional award by the AVCA.
The right-side hitter also earned a place on the All-BIG EAST First Team last month, becoming the first Pirate to achieve that honor since 1997. Matusiak registered a team-high 414 kills and her average of 3.83 per set ranked second in the BIG EAST in her final season.
She was tabbed for the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times and was named conference Player of the Week on November 15. Matusiak completed her outstanding career second on the career kills list, compiling 1,433.
Seton Hall completed one of the best seasons in recent history, compiling a 17-13 overall record with an 8-6 mark in BIG EAST play to earn a third straight trip to the conference tournament.
