
Shelbey Manthorpe Gains Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week after leading the Pirates to a 1-1 week and recording her fourth triple-double of the season.
Manthorpe notched her ninth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 22 assists in Seton Hall's 12th straight victory, a 3-1 win at Georgetown on Friday. The setter narrowly missed at triple-double as she also tallied eight digs in the victory. On Sunday, Manthorpe did achieve a triple-double with team-highs of 16 kills and 24 assists to go with 17 digs in a hard-fought, five-set loss at Villanova.
Other weekly honors include: Marquette's Holly Mertens being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Villanova's Emma Pettit earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week recognition. Joining Manthorpe on the Honor Roll are Cincinnati's Becca Refenes, Louisville's Lola Arslanbekova, St. John's Ashley Boursiquot and USF's Erin Fairs.
With a record of 15-2, Seton Hall is off to its best start since the beginning of the 1994 season.
The Pirates will return to action this weekend when they remain on the road for a pair of games in the Midwest. Seton Hall will take on Louisville on Saturday at noon and Cincinnati on Sunday at 2:00 pm. SHU will return home to Walsh Gym on Saturday, Oct. 13 when it hosts Marquette.
