
Fourth Straight H.R. for Manthorpe

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth straight week after recording a pair of double-doubles in games vs. Marquette and Syracuse last week.
Manthorpe has now recorded a double-double in six straight matches and has a team-leading 14 on the season. Against Marquette on Saturday, she tallied a team-high 39 assists to go with 16 digs. In Sunday's victory over Syracuse, Manthorpe narrowly missed her seventh triple-double of the year with 36 assists, 12 digs and eight kills.
All totaled, this is the fifth time in eight weeks that Manthorpe has been honored by the BIG EAST. She was named Player of the Week on Aug. 27.
Other weekly honors include: Cincinnati's Jordanne Scott being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and USF's Erin Fairs earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week recognition. Joining Manthorpe on the Honor Roll are Louisville's Gwen Rucker, Marquette's Danielle Carlson, Rutgers' Stephanie Zielinski and USF's Kayla Walton.
The Pirates will return to action this Friday when they host in-state rival Rutgers at Walsh Gym. Match time is scheduled for 5:00 pm. Seton Hall will be hosting its Dig Pink event that evening and raising funds to support the Side Out Foundation and fight cancer.
