Shelbey Manthorpe Nets Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the third straight week after recording a pair of triple-doubles in games at #17 Louisville and at Cincinnati last week.
In just three sets Saturday at Louisville, Manthorpe recorded 10 kills to go with team-highs of 21 assists and 15 digs. The Pirates pushed the BIG EAST's top offensive team in all three sets, but ultimately fell. On Sunday, Seton Hall dropped a marathon five-set match at Cincinnati. Manthorpe led the Pirates with 14 kills and 32 assists while matching her career-high with 23 digs. The super-sophomore now has six triple-doubles this season and 10 in her remarkable, yet young collegiate career.
Other weekly honors include: Louisville's Lola Arslanbekova being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Syracuse's Silvi Uattara earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week recognition. Joining Manthorpe on the Honor Roll are Cincinnati's Jordanne Scott, Marquette's Kelsey Mattai, Notre Dame's Jeni Houser and Pittsburgh's Monica Wignot.
The Pirates will return to action this weekend when they host a pair of games at Walsh Gym. Seton Hall will take on Marquette on Saturday and Syracuse on Sunday. Both matches are 2:00 pm starts.
