Senior guard Brittany Morris (Raleigh, N.C.) and freshman forward Tabatha Richardson-Smith (Bay City, Texas) both led the Pirates with nine points apiece. Morris has now been the Pirates' scoring leader in all four games this season.
The Pirates struggled to get the offense on track to start the game on Monday night as the Wolverines jumped out to a 9-0 through the first seven minutes of the game.
Richardson-Smith ended the Michigan scoring run by draining a three-pointer to pull Seton Hall within six points, 9-3, but the Wolverines answered with a three from Kate Thompson on the next possession, one of her five long-range baskets on the night.
Michigan (3-1) led by 29 points at the break, shooting 56.0 percent (14-of-25) from the field while forcing 12 Seton Hall turnovers.
Morris scored seven of her nine points in the second half, and Richardson-Smith was 3-for-6 from the field in the final period. Redshirt sophomore Ka-Deidre Simmons (Newark, N.J.) also finished with six points during the second period, knocking down a three pointer and going 3-for-4 at the line.
Seton Hall, which entered the game as one of the best free throw shooting teams in the BIG EAST excelled once again at the line, going 8-for-10 as a team from the stripe.
The Pirates also forced 24 Michigan turnovers, marking the second-straight game Seton Hall turned over an opponent more than 20 times; SHU forced 26 turnovers at Temple last Wednesday.
Monday night's game was just the fourth all-time meeting between Seton Hall and Michigan, with the Wolverines holding a 3-1 edge in the series.
Seton Hall (2-2) continues its four-game road trip later this week as the Pirates will head to Malibu, Calif., to compete in the Pepperdine University Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 23-24. Seton Hall opens tournament play against the University of Wyoming on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. (ET).
