
Manthorpe Named to Honor Roll Again

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the sixth time in seven weeks on Monday.
Manthorpe was instrumental in leading the Pirates to a 1-1 record last week, including a three-set sweep of DePaul at Walsh Gym. On Saturday against powerhouse Notre Dame, she tallied her eighth triple-double of the season and 12th of her career. Manthorpe notched 11 kills, 32 assists and 14 digs to go with an impressive .346 hitting percentage in a hard-fought four-set loss. On Sunday, she recorded seven kills to go with 21 assists and six digs in Seton Hall's victory over DePaul.
Other weekly honors include: Marquette's Holly Mertens being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Notre Dame's Taylor Morey earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week recognition. Joining Manthorpe on the Honor Roll are Cincinnati's Jordanne Scott, Louisville's Lola Arslanbekova, Notre Dame's Maggie Brindock and St. John's Milica Krstojevic.
The Pirates will travel to Pittsburgh on Friday, Nov. 9 and Syracuse on Sunday, Nov. 11 to wrap up the 2012 regular season. After that, the top eight teams in the conference will compete for the 2012 BIG EAST Championship, Nov. 16-18, at Marquette University.
