For the second year in a row, the Seton Hall Women's Basketball team is partnering with Samaritan's Feet. More than 300 million children around the world do not own shoes or socks. The Women's Basketball team is campaigning a month-long initiative to raise money and awareness to this important cause.
Samaritan's Feet, a 501 c3 organization, was founded by a former NCAA Division 1 men's basketball player, Manny Ohonme. Originally from Nigeria, Manny was given his first pair of shoes. "Not only was I given shoes at the age of 9, I was given hope for a brighter future."
Their goal is to put 10 million pairs of shoes on children's feet in 10 years around the world. We are asking you to help us raise money for Samaritan's Feet in honor of Seton Hall Women's Basketball.
The Pirates have chosen the January 5, 2013 game against Pittsburgh at 2:00PM as their annual Barefoot Game for Samaritan's Feet. Donations can be made at any time throughout the month of January, by clicking here!
