PORTSMOUTH INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT - FINAL STATISTICS
PORTSMOUTH, VA. - Former men's basketball guard Jordan Theodore has been named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2012 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
In its 60th year, the Portsmouth Invitational pits a select group of 64 seniors from around the country against each other in a four-day, eight-team tournament. The event has grown to be regarded as one of the premier destinations for senior NBA Draft hopefuls.
Theodore, who adds to a year already filled with milestones and accolades, earns the distinction after leading the Portsmouth Partnership squad to a 2-1 record and a third-place finish. He was previously named Second Team All-BIG EAST after posting the highest single-season assist total in Seton Hall history.
The team's only loss came to eventual champion Roger Brown's in the semifinals.
The Englewood native played a central role for his team throughout the tournament, finishing with averages of 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and a tournament-best 8.0 assists per game.
Theodore led all players with 24 total assists over the three-game span and his 11-assist effort in the third-place game was the only double-digit performance throughout the duration of the tournament.
Norfolk State's Kyle O'Quinn, who played with runner-up Portsmouth Sports Club, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after posting identical averages of 11.7 points and 11.7 rebounds.
A signal of the strength of the conference, BIG EAST alumni accounted for one-third of the 12-man All-Tournament Team. Theodore is joined on the squad by forwards Augustus Gilchrist of USF and Henry Sims of Georgetown as well as Pittsburgh guard Ashton Gibbs.
