Morris averaged 17 points per game in a pair of BIG EAST contests last week, helping the Pirates post a 1-1 record, including a 45-42 victory over rival Rutgers University on Sunday afternoon which snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Scarlet Knights dating back to Feb. 13, 2002.
It is the first time in her career that Morris has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll and the second time this season an SHU player has received the honor; senior forward Alexandra Maseko (Harare, Zimbabwe) landed the weekly accolade on Jan. 8.
Morris poured in a game-high 19 points in the win over Rutgers, shooting 3-for-5 from three-point range and 4-for-5 at the line. She made a number of key baskets early in the game to help Seton Hall build a nine-point lead and nailed the go-ahead bucket, a 12-foot baseline jump shot, with 2:30 remaining.
Earlier in the week Morris scored a team-high 15 points in a loss to USF, nailing another three long-range buckets to go along with three rebounds and three assists.
Enjoying her most successful campaign in a Seton Hall uniform, the sharp-shooting Morris leads Seton Hall and ranks 22nd in the BIG EAST with 13.0 points per game. She has scored in double figures a team-best 14 times and has led the Pirates in scoring on 11 occasions.
Morris eclipsed 800-career points against USF last Tuesday and sits at 830 points in 99-career games. She is Seton Hall's all-time leader in three-point field goal attempts with 470 and her 145-career three pointers rank just 11 behind Ebonie Williams ('07-'10) and SHU Hall of Famer Jodi Brooks ('90-'94) for first place in program history.
Seton Hall returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 30, when it heads to Syracuse, N.Y., to face the Syracuse University Orange in the Carrier Dome at 7 p.m.
