
Men's Golf Tied for Fifth at Temple Invite

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA. - Four Pirates shot 3-over-par or better to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a fifth place standing among 17 teams following one round of the 2013 Temple Invitational at Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
Collectively, the Pirates shot an 11-over-par, 291, in round one and trail the team leader, Hartford, by nine strokes entering Sunday's final round.
Sophomore Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) is leading the way for Seton Hall following his 2-over-par, 72. He's currently tied for 12th among 93 individual golfers. Hartford's Evan Russell is the individual leader following his 8-under-par, 62.
A trio of Pirates, Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.), JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.) and Gary Dunne (Wicklow, Ireland), are all tied for 17th overall following their 3-over-par, 73's.
Freshman Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) is tied for 48th place following a 6-over-par, 76.
Seton Hall is among a field of 17 teams taking on the par-70, 6,670-yard North Course, which also includes host Temple, La Salle, Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph's, Binghamton, Brown, Cincinnati, Cornell, Dartmouth, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Princeton, Rhode Island, Richmond and St. John's.
Seton Hall has played in this tournament, formerly known as the Big 5 Classic, in five of the last six years, including the last three. Last season, Seton Hall finished 17th with an 89-over-par, 325-324-649, 40 shots behind the champion, Hartford. Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) was the low scorer for the Pirates with an 18-over-par, 78-80-158. In 2007 and 2008, Seton Hall recorded back-to-back second place finishes at this tournament.
