SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall University head women's basketball coach Anthony Bozzella Friday announced the signing of forward Jordan Molyneaux, Aurora, Colo. (Regis Jesuit) and wing Claire Lundberg, Andover, Minn. (Anoka) to National Letters of Intent as members of his first full recruiting class at Seton Hall.
"I am just so excited to be able to add these two wonderful student-athletes to our institution here at Seton Hall as a part of this recruiting class," Bozzella said. "I give my whole staff a lot of credit for working tirelessly during the recruiting process. It is not very often you get two of the kids you targeted from the beginning to come to your school and these two certainly were."
Molyneaux is a versatile 6-foot-4 post player ranked as the No. 16 prep forward in the country by ESPN and the No. 31 forward and the No. 246 overall prospect in the Class of 2014 by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, and in addition to Seton Hall was recruited by programs from the Pac-12 and Big Ten. She is a tremendous athlete that moves well in transition and still possesses the size and athleticism to provide a daunting post presence on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
"Jordan is definitely going to fill a need for us next season as we graduate three of our post players," said Bozzella. "She runs the floor extremely well and comes from a top high level high school basketball program, currently ranked No. 2 in the country, where she has been incredibly well coached by Carl Mattei. Jordan will be able to run the floor for us, block shots and defensive rebound immediately and I think her offensive game will continue to develop."
She scored 205 points during her junior season, averaging 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and helped guide Regis Jesuit to a 26-2 overall record and the Colorado High School Athletic Association Class 5 championship, just the second in school history.
Lundberg is a 6-foot-1 versatile perimeter scoring threat that is ranked as the No. 327 national prospect by the All Star Girls Report and was also recruited by programs in the Pac-12 and ACC. She scored 319 points to average 12.8 ppg during her junior season, shooting 52.0 percent from the floor and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line while knocking down 35 3-pointers and shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.
"Claire is one of the best shooters I have ever seen at the high school level," said Bozzella. "She has tremendous range and will fit in perfectly with the offense we run and help extend opposing defenses. She is a great student-athlete and a tremendous person. Claire plays on one of the top AAU programs in the country, the Minnesota Fury, and has been extremely well coached at that level under Nick Storm."
As a sophomore Lundberg helped lead Anoka on an improbable run to the Minnesota Section 7AAAA state championship, pouring in 22 points in the title game victory. In a quarterfinal state playoff game last season she scored a team-high 16 points with five boards and two blocked shots. Lundberg was named to the Northwest Suburban All-Conference Team after the 2012-13 season.
