
Volleyball Throttles Montana, 3-0

Manthorpe tallied 11 kills and a match-high 16 digs in the victory. Sophomore Danielle Schroeder (Chicago, Ill.) registered a season-high 12 kills against just one attack error for a team-high .579 attack percentage. Shelbey Manthorpe (Merion Station, Pa.) recorded a match-high 33 assists to go with seven digs.
Sophomore Tessa Fournier (Redondo Beach, Calif.), who left Seton Hall's last match with an ankle injury, played all three sets and had 12 digs.
Seton Hall (6-2) got off to a fast start and a kill by Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa.) gave the Pirates an early 8-4 lead in set one. After Montana cut the Pirates' lead to 8-6, The Hall went on an 8-1 run, highlighted by four more kills from Grammer, to take a commanding 16-7 advantage. Seton Hall went on to cruise to a 25-13, first set victory. Seton Hall attacked at a .370 clip, compared to -.033 for the Grizzlies.
With the score tied at four in set two, Seton Hall took off again, scoring seven of the next eight points to prompt a Montana timeout and give the Pirates a 12-5 lead. Ahead 13-8, The Hall went on a 6-1 run to take a commanding 19-9 lead, and never looked back in route to a 25-15 win.
Back-to-back kills by sophomore Danielle Schroeder gave Seton Hall a 10-6 lead in set three. From there, the Pirates scored five of the next six points, including two more kills by Schroeder to take a commanding 15-7 advantage. The Grizzlies cut the Pirates' lead in half, 19-15, but Seton Hall held on to win set three, 25-18, to complete the three-set sweep. Schroeder registered eight of her 12 kills in the final set alone.
Seton Hall will return to action later today when it faces the tournament host, West Virginia at 7:00 p.m.
