Go Posts 3-Under, 69, in Mountaineer First Round

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) fired a 3-under-par, 69, in the opening round of the 2016 Mountaineer Intercollegiate. As a team, Seton Hall is tied for 13th.

The field was scheduled to play two continuous rounds on Monday, but due to darkness, the second round was suspended and will resume on Tuesday.

Go is currently tied for second place among 78 individual golfers and is only one stroke behind the leader Miami's Patrick Flavin. It is Go's fifth sub-par round in six rounds so far this fall.

Collectively, Seton Hall shot a 15-over-par, 303, in round one. The Pirates trailed the team leader, Cincinnati, by 14 strokes entering the second round.

Freshman Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) was tied for 18th place with a 1-over-par, 73, in round one.Â

Sophomore Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) shot an 8-over-par, 80, while classmate Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) was only one stroke behind with a 9-over-par, 81.Â

Junior Linus Yip (Sydney, Australia) rounded out the Pirates' scoring with an 11-over-par, 83.

Spread out over 250 acres amidst the Appalachian Mountains, the fairways bob and weave through wildly rugged terrain and Dye's graceful earth sculptures. From 2004-2009, Pete Dye GC course played host to an annual PGA TOUR/web.com event. The Pete Dye Golf Club gained national recognition as host to the PGA Nationwide Tour 2004-2009, ranks #46 among Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Courses, and is #9 on Golfweeks' Best Modern Courses.

In addition to Seton Hall and host West Virginia, the talented field is comprised of 12 other teams including:  Akron, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, East Carolina, James Madison, Marshall, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Mississippi State and Toledo. Other than Seton Hall, there are no BIG EAST schools in the field.

Tee Times:
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. On Tuesday, a single final round will be played with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
