Seton Hall Clinches BIG EAST Championship Berth

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – A victory for the Seton Hall women's volleyball team over St. John's on Saturday night, coupled with Villanova's loss at Creighton today, means the Pirates have clinched a berth in the upcoming 2016 BIG EAST Championship.

It's the second time The Hall has qualified for the conference's post-season event in five seasons with head coach Allison Yaeger at the helm. The Pirates finished the BIG EAST slate with a 10-8 record, marking only the second time in program history they've reached double-figures in victories.

The fourth-seeded Pirates will face top-seeded Creighton in the semifinals on Friday, November 25 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Match time is scheduled for 12:35 pm ET. The match will be shown on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the Fox Sports Go app.

The other semifinal features second-seeded Marquette against third-seeded Xavier. That match is at 3:05 pm ET on Friday.

The BIG EAST championship match will be at 2:35 pm ET on Saturday, November 26. The champion will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Saturday's match will be televised on Fox Sports 2.
