
Kenneweg Collects 1,000th Dig as Pirates Sweep DePaul

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Senior Sarah Kenneweg (Poolesville, Md.) collected her 1000th career dig and the Seton Hall women's volleyball team swept DePaul, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-15), on Friday.
Both Dominique Mason (Chicago, Ill.) and Abby Thelen (Ft. Mitchell, Ky.) reached double-figures in kills as the Pirates had an attack percentage over .300 for only the third time this season.
SET 1:
DePaul scored the first point of the match, but its 1-0 lead was its last of the first set. The Pirates scored five of the next six points to jump out to a 5-2 advantage. DePaul cut the Pirate lead to 10-7, but The Hall responded with a 6-1 run to take a 16-8 lead. The Blue Demons cut the lead to four late, 23-19, but the Pirates held on for a 25-20 first set win. Mason had seven of her team-high 13 kills in the first frame alone.
SET 2:
The second set was the closest of the match with the teams tying the score nine times, but the Pirates were able to take control late. With the score tied at 22, a kill by Thelen, followed by a Blue Demon attack error, put Seton Hall in set point. Blocks by Sharay Barnes (Swarthmore, Pa.) and Amanda Rachwal (Bethlehem, Pa.) ended the set in The Hall's favor, 25-22.
SET 3:
Seton Hall never trailed in the third set. With the score tied at nine, the Pirates went on a 10-3 run, and a kill by Caitlin Koska (Franklin, Wis.) gave Seton Hall a commanding 19-2 advantage. After DePaul scored two in a row, the Pirates ended the match with six of the final seven points. A kill by Barnes clinched The Hall a 25-15 set three victory and a three-set match sweep.

The Pirates will return to action tomorrow when they host BIG EAST rival Marquette. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
