
Seton Hall Outlasted by Retrievers

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team could not keep pace with UMBC, Friday evening, ultimately falling 167-128 in the team's season opener inside Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.
The Pirates opened the meet with an exciting win in the 200 medley relay (1:33.51) behind the efforts of Sophomores Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.) and Joshua Tosoni (Arnold, Md.), freshman Liam Cosgrove (Sea Girt, N.J.) and senior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.).
Yanchulis finished second in the 200 free with a time 1:42.43 and placed second in the 100 free (46.85). Kauth finished runner-up in the 100 back (51.02).
Tosoni picked up the win in the 100 breaststroke after touching the wall in 57.20, and took home the 200 breast in 2:05.10.
Cosgrove and fellow freshman Billy Fales (Katy, Texas) finished two-three in the 100 fly with respective times of 50.79 and 51.42. Junior Kyle Nash (Katy, Texas) won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:56.54.
The quartet of Cosgrove, Fales, junior Chris Tucker (Middletown, N.J.) and sophomore John Redoutey (Costa Mesa, Calif.) won the 400 free relay after touching the wall in 3:11.27.
Up next, the Pirates host Rider on Saturday in a 1 p.m. meet inside Regan Rec Center.
