Fountain Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK – After leading the Seton Hall women's basketball team to a pair of wins in her first two games in Blue and White, graduate transfer Donnaizha Fountain (Roxbury, Mass.) has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday (Nov. 13). Fountain averaged 20.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as The Hall picked up season-opening wins over Saint Peter's and Wake Forest last week.
In her Pirate debut on Nov. 10, the Temple transfer needed only 15 minutes of action to lead all players with 22 points in a 91-49 victory. Fountain also grabbed six rebounds and nabbed a steal, going 8-for-10 from the charity stripe and 2-for-4 from 3-point range.
On Nov. 12 at Wake Forest, Fountain led all players with 18 points and 13 rebounds as The Hall knocked off the Demon Deacons by a score of 67-57. The 6'0 wing added a block and a steal and knocked down a trio of 3-pointers while helping the Pirates to their first true road win over a team from a "Football Five" conference since 2014.
Fountain and the Pirates are back in action on Thursday, Nov. 16 when they host Princeton at Walsh Gym. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the contest will serve as the annual "Bozzella Pizza Party" with free pizza for all students in attendance.
