South Orange, N.J. - Dates have been set for the 2017 Kevin Willard Basketball Camp for Boys & Girls and registration is now open with limited space available.
Head coach Kevin Willard and his staff will welcome boys and girls to Richie Regan Athletic Center for two different four-day sessions during the summer. To be eligible for this camp, boys and girls must be at least age five up through entering the sixth grade.
Week I is scheduled to be held from Monday, July 10 - Thursday, July 13 with a second opportunity to attend available from Monday, July 17 - Thursday, July 20. Activities are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. each day.
Attendees of the Seton Hall Basketball Camp will participate in specialized instruction and drills, skills competitions as well as competitive games. Throughout the sessions, campers will also have the chance to hear from experienced players and coaches that have been successful both on and off the court.
Weekly awards will be handed out and every Pirate camper will receive a branded T-shirt.
The camp will feature instruction from Willard, associate head coach and former Pirate great Shaheen Holloway, '00, assistant coaches Fred Hill and Seton Hall alumnus Grant Billmeier '07, Director of Basketball Operations Kyle Smyth, and Coordinator of Basketball Operations and former Pirate Kevin Lynch, '14.
Under Willard's guidance, The Hall has returned to the national spotlight through its accomplishments on the court and in the classroom. Last season, the Pirates went 25-9, captured the BIG EAST Tournament championship for the first time since 1993 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Willard's recruiting class of 2014 has helped transform the program, headlined by Isaiah Whitehead, who was a unanimous 2016 first-team All-BIG EAST selection and is now playing in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets.
Overall, 12 Pirates that played for Willard have gone on to play professionally and he has mentored 12 All-BIG EAST selections with more to come in this, his seventh season.
That level of achievement has extended itself into the classroom where 29 Pirates have been named BIG EAST Academic All-Stars in the last six years. In addition, the Seton Hall men's basketball program recently received the NCAA APR Public Recognition Award for boasting an academic progress rate that ranked in the top 10 percent in the nation.
Space is limited and both sessions will sell out early!
