JaQuan Jackson Named Second Team All-Met

NEW YORK – Seton Hall women's basketball guard JaQuan Jackson (Killeen, Texas) has been named Second Team All-Met, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) announced on Tuesday (April 25). Jackson becomes the 16th All-Met selection in Seton Hall history and eighth under fourth-year head coach Anthony Bozzella.
Jackson will be honored Wednesday night at the annual Met Writers awards dinner at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, N.Y.
In her first season in Pirate blue and white, the junior transfer established herself as one of the elite scorers in the BIG EAST. Jackson ranked third in the league in scoring with 15.3 points per game and knocked down a total of 57 shots from 3-point range, sixth-most in the conference. She also finished fifth in the league with 1.7 steals per game and top-10 with a 75.0 percent mark from the charity stripe.
Overall on the year Jackson scored in double-figures on 21 occasions and eclipsed the 20-point mark six times. She turned in one of the best scoring performances in program history on Feb. 26 at St. John's, pouring in 32 points on 12-of-22 shooting and knocking down 6-of-10 from 3-point range. Jackson was a three-time member of the BIG EAST Honor Roll, earning the nod on Dec. 19, Jan. 2 and Feb. 27.
