
Pirates Wrap Up Fall Season at Georgetown

BEALLSVILLE, MD. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will complete the fall season with the 2018 Georgetown Intercollegiate at The Members Club at Four Streams, Oct. 15-16.

The Course:
The Members Club at Four Steams is the first signature design in the United States from the renowned Price/Smyers Golf Course Design Group. The course is inspired by some of the world's best courses and holes. Mr. Price combines his playing talents with the architectural expertise of Steve Smyers, architect of Chart Hills (England) recently named the number one inland course in the British Isles, Old Memorial and Southern Dunes (Florida) and Wolf Run (Indiana). The greens, tees and fairways feature a new type bentgrass that will ensure superb playing conditions year round. The course is set on rolling land with visual drama from many vantage points.

Four Streams is located on a 300-acre parcel located in the Agricultural Reserve in Montgomery County, Maryland. Four Streams is ranked as one of the top 10 courses in Maryland by Golf Digest and one of the "World's Top 1,000 Golf Courses" by Rolex. In addition, the course has been awarded a Top Golf Architecture Award for Outstanding Design in Maryland.

Last Time at Georgetown:Â
Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) collected his third top-10 finish of the fall and helped lead the Pirates to a third place team finish at the 2017 Georgetown Intercollegiate. Yeom shot a 4-over-par, 75, in the final round on Tuesday to finish in eighth place among 60 individual golfers. For the three-round event, he shot an 8-over-par, 74-72-75-221. Yeom finished just two strokes behind six golfers who tied for first place at 6-over-par.

Collectively, Seton Hall shot a solid 15-over-par, 299, in round three, but due to strong rounds by Georgetown and Rutgers, it fell to a third place finish. For the tournament, the Pirates were 46-over-par with a 306-293-299-898. Georgetown won the team title, only four strokes ahead of The Hall, while the Scarlet Knights finished just one stroke ahead for second place.

Three Pirates hit a 5-over-par, 77, in Tuesday's final round to help guide the Pirates to an 11th place team finish at the 2018 Mountaineer Intercollegiate. Sophomores Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England), as well as senior Chris Yeom each shared a team-best 5-over-par mark in round three.Â

Yeom finished the three-round event as the top Pirate, tying for 16th place with a 9-over-par, 78-70-77-225. Acevedo finished in a tie for 47th place with an 18-over-par, 77-80-77-234, while Tait had a 25-over-par, 81-83-77-241.

Collectively, the Pirates shot a 22-over-par, 310, in round three. For the tournament, they finished with a 60-over-par, 305-309-310-924. Host West Virginia won the team title by 11 strokes over Davidson at 2-over-par. Two other BIG EAST competitors were in the field. Georgetown finished four strokes ahead of Seton Hall in 10th place, while St. John's was 30 strokes behind the Pirates in 14th place.

The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) beginning with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. The Pirates will be paired with golfers from Pennsylvania and Rhode Island for Monday's rounds. On Tuesday, a single final round will be played with again a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.Â
