
Seton Hall Wraps Up Play at Mountaineer

BRIDGEPORT, W.VA. – Three Pirates hit a 5-over-par, 77, in Tuesday's final round to help guide the Seton Hall men's golf team to an 11th place team finish at the 2018 Mountaineer Intercollegiate.
Sophomores Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) and Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England), as well as senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) each shared a team-best 5-over-par mark in round three. Both Acevedo and Tait used a pair of birdies to fuel their rounds, while Yeom had 13 pars.
Yeom finished the three-round event as the top Pirate, tying for 16th place with a 9-over-par, 78-70-77-225. Acevedo finished in a tie for 47th place with an 18-over-par, 77-80-77-234, while Tait had a 25-over-par, 81-83-77-241.
Collectively, the Pirates shot a 22-over-par, 310, in round three. For the tournament, they finished with a 60-over-par, 305-309-310-924. Host West Virginia won the team title by 11 strokes over Davidson at 2-over-par. Two other BIG EAST competitors were in the field. Georgetown finished four strokes ahead of Seton Hall in 10th place, while St. John's was 30 strokes behind the Pirates in 14th place.
Senior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines) shot a second consecutive 7-over-par, 79, in the final round. For the tournament, he tied for 43rd place with a 16-over-par, 74-79-79-232.
Freshman Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) was 1-under-par from holes 10 through 17, but the Pirate newcomer settled for an 8-over-par, 80, on Tuesday. For the tournament, he notched a 20-over-par, 76-80-80-236.
Competing as an individual, freshman Hunter Ramee (Warren, Conn.) finished his first collegiate tournament at 36-over-par with a 77-89-86-252.

In addition to Seton Hall and host West Virginia, the field included 12 other schools: Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green State, Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Marshall, Ohio, Rutgers and Winthrop. BIG EAST foes Georgetown and St. John's are also members of the field.
