
Pirates Fall to Princeton in Match Play Final, 3-2

BRANCHBURG, N.J. – Sophomores Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) won their matches, but the Seton Hall women's golf team fell to Princeton, 3-2, in the match play final of the 2018 edition of "Match Madness at Fox Hollow" on Sunday.
Seton Hall earned it's placement in the final match after defeating Penn, 3.5-to-1.5, in Saturday's semifinal round.
Sager had the Pirates' most convincing win of the day, defeating Princeton's Alison Chang, 3&2. Win edged her opponent, 1 UP, and was the lone Pirate to win both of her matches this weekend. On Saturday, she defeated Penn's Tiffany Yau.
Senior Cassie Pantelas (Canton, Ohio) went the distance with Princeton's Tenley Shield, but she ultimately fell, 1 UP. Sophomore Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) dropped her match with Tiana Lau, 2&1, while freshman Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) fell, 6&5.
Playing as individuals, junior Gianna Tomeo (Bradenton, Fla.) defeated Princeton's Amanda Brown, 2 UP, while senior Macky Fouse (Aliquippa, Pa.) fell to Princeton's Anabelle Chang, 3&2.
