PREVIEW
The Seton Hall women's volleyball team will open the 2018 regular season on Friday as part of the Blue & White Classic, hosted by the University at Buffalo. The Pirates will face North Dakota State at noon on Friday, before taking on the hosts at 6:30 p.m. The Hall will wrap up the season-opening tournament with a contest against Niagara at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

All three contests will be available live via the University at Buffalo's YouTube channel.

SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA STATE
This will be the first-ever meeting between Seton Hall and North Dakota State.

The Bison are coming off a strong 2017 campaign, finishing with a final record of 19-9, which ended with a straight set loss to Denver in the Summit League championship match.

NDSU was predicted to tie for sixth place in the nine-team Summit League this season by the conference's coaches. Senior outside hitter McKenzie Burke and sophomore middle hitter Bella Lein were members of the Summit League's "Players to Watch" list for 2018.

SCOUTING BUFFALO
Seton Hall and Buffalo will meet for only the sixth time in history on Friday. The Pirates have won four of the prior five matches in the series, including a five-set victory at Walsh Gym last season.

Buffalo is coming off a 15-13 campaign in 2017. Their season came to an end with an opening round four-set loss to Eastern Michigan in the Mid-American Conference tournament.

SCOUTING NIAGARA
Seton Hall and Niagara have only met twice in history, with the Pirates winning the first two meetings in back-to-back seasons, 2002-03. In fact, the Purple Eagles have won only one set all-time against The Hall.

Niagara is coming off a solid 2017 campaign, finishing with an 18-10 overall record. Its season came to an end with a semifinals loss in straight sets to Iona in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament.

The Purple Eagles have been picked to finish fifth in the 10-team MAAC. Middle hitter Grace Hetterscheidt was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
