
Win Fueling Pirates Through 2 Rounds at Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Junior Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) fired a 2-under-par, 70, in the second round to lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a fourth place team standing of the Nittany Lion Invitational entering Sunday's final round.
Win rode four birdies in the second round to shave of six strokes from her morning round. She is currently tied for sixth place among 90 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 76-70-146, and is eight strokes behind the individual leader, Penn State's Sarah Willis.
Win's second round, 70, is her fourth career sub-par round, which ties for second-most all-time at Seton Hall.
As a team, the Pirates were 13 strokes better in Saturday's second round, finishing with a 3-over-par, 291. The performance ties Seton Hall's par-72, single-round record achieved twice before, the third round of the Jackrabbit Invitational on March 11, 2017 and the third round of the William & Mary Invitational on Sept. 16, 2014.
Seton Hall is currently 19-over-par with a 304-291-595, and trails the team leader, Washington, by 14 strokes entering Sunday's final round. Penn State is second, 10 strokes ahead of The Hall, while Rutgers is third, eight strokes in front of the Pirates.
Sophomore Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) and junior Sammie Staudt (Coatesville, Pa.) are currently tied for 23rd place overall at 6-over-par, but have had opposite rounds. Kness had five birdies in round two, in route to a 1-over-par, 73. For the tournament, she has a 77-73-150. Staudt had her 73 in round one, before one rough hole had her settle with a 77 in round two.
A pair of Pirates made their Seton Hall debuts on Saturday, and both played better in the second round. Junior Carolina Ronchel Salas (Huelva, Spain) was three strokes better in round two, finishing with a 3-over-par, 75. She is currently tied for 43rd place at 9-over-par with a 78-75-153. Freshman Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) was shaved off nine strokes from the morning, using three birdies to card a 1-over-par, 73, in the afternoon. She is currently 11-over-par with an 82-73-155.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field is comprised of 14 other teams including: Akron, Bucknell, Columbia, High Point, Pennsylvania, Rollins, Rutgers, Santa Clara, Navy, Washington, Yale and Youngstown State. Also in the field are two BIG EAST opponents, Georgetown and Xavier, which means the top three finishers in last year's BIG EAST Championship will compete at Penn State.
Tee Times:
The field will play two rounds (36 holes) on Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Sunday. Sunday's round will also be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
