
Seton Hall finishes 10th at Georgetown Intercollegiate

BEALLSVILLE, MD. – Freshman Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) finished tied for 15th to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to 10th place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Xie had three birdies on Tuesday in route to a 7-over-par, 78. For the tournament, he tied for 15th place with a 4-over-par, 69-70-78-217. Washington's Noah Woolsey and Henry Lee tied for the individual title at 5-under-par.

Collectively, the Pirates shot a 27-over-par, 311, in the final round to finish 10th. Their three-round total was a 45-over-par, 291-295-311-897. Washington won the team title with an astonishing 17-under-par score. BIG EAST opponent Butler tied for second at 10-over-par. Among the rest of the field, Georgetown finished seven strokes ahead of The Hall, while both Creighton and DePaul were behind the Pirates at 54-over-par and 57-over-par respectively.

Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) shaved four strokes off his second-round score to finish with a 3-over-par, 74, on Tuesday. The junior only had one birdie, but used 13 pars to fuel a strong round. For the tournament, he tied for 23rd place with an 8-over-par, 69-78-74-221.

Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) had an up-and-down tournament for the Pirates. He sandwiched a 1-over-par, 72, between a pair of 7-over-par, 78's. Today, he had three birdies on his front nine, but had a damaging "7" on the par-4 No. 13 hole. For the tournament, Ramachandran fired a 15-over-par, 78-72-78-228.

Junior Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) wrapped up his tournament on Tuesday with a 12-over-par, 83. For the two-day event, he shot a 21-over-par, 75-76-83-234.

Sophomore Peter Tyler Po (Nasipit Cebu City, Philippines) rounded out the Pirates' team scoring for the tournament. In round three, he logged a 10-over-par, 81. For the event, he was 23-over-par with a 78-77-81-236.

Competing as an individual, senior Alex Chalk (Castle Douglas, Scotland) finished the tournament with a 25-over-par, 75-83-80-238.
