
Pirates Close Fall Season at Grandover

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will complete the fall season with the 2019 Grandover Collegiate at Grandover Resorts, Oct. 27-28.

The Course:
Golf at Grandover is a public, PGA facility offering daily tee times, golf outings and golf tournaments, overnight golf packages as well as golf lessons and is located at The Grandover Resort. It features a practice area, Golf Pro Shop and two challenging 18-hole courses; The East Course and the West Course. Grandover was designed by David Graham and Gary Panks, world-renowned golf architects. It has been host of 2011, '14, '15 and '18 D III National Championship and will be host for the 2012 D1 Regional Championship.

Opened in March 1996, the East Course was designed by Gary Panks and David Graham. Many of the holes were designed to give a stadium-effect around them. The tree lined fairways provide a seasonal blaze of color offering our guests the feeling of being in a nature preserve in America's heartland of golf.

The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host UNC Greensboro, the talented 13-team field also includes: Appalachian State, Chattanooga, Duke, Elon, Louisiana-Monroe, Ohio, Penn State, Rutgers, VCU and Virginia Tech. BIG EAST opponent Villanova is also in the field.

The Seton Hall Lineup:
Freshman Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) finished tied for 15th to lead the Pirates to a 10th place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate on Oct. 15. Xie had three birdies on Tuesday in route to a 7-over-par, 78. For the tournament, he tied for 15th place with a 4-over-par, 69-70-78-217. Washington's Noah Woolsey and Henry Lee tied for the individual title at 5-under-par.

Collectively, the Pirates shot a 27-over-par, 311, in the final round to finish 10th. Their three-round total was a 45-over-par, 291-295-311-897. Washington won the team title with an astonishing 17-under-par score. BIG EAST opponent Butler tied for second at 10-over-par. Among the rest of the field, Georgetown finished seven strokes ahead of The Hall, while both Creighton and DePaul were behind the Pirates at 54-over-par and 57-over-par respectively.
