Three Pirates Compete at 2019 ITA Northeast Regionals

West Point, N.Y. - Three members of the Seton Hall women's tennis team competed at the 2019 ITA Northeast Regionals, held at Army West Point. Sophomore Regina Pitts (Los Angeles, Calif.) and senior Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) competed in singles, and Pitts teamed up with junior Hermehr Kaur (Redlands, Calif.) in doubles.
Pitts won her first-round match, defeating NJIT's Mouna Bouzgarrou in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. She then took a loss to Fordham's Arina Taluyenko in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Taal competed against Fordham's Valeria Deminova in the first round and fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Pitts and Kaur suffered a heartbreaking first-round doubles loss to Megan Gamble and Erika Gonzalez of Niagara, 8-7 (6).Â
Seton Hall will continue to train and practice for the spring championship season, which begins Friday, Jan. 31 when the Pirates return to West Point to play Binghamton.
