SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will look to turn back-to-back victories into a three-match win streak as the Pirates take on Creighton this Friday night at the newly-renovated Owen T. Carroll Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

Knotted at 1-1 nearing the end of regulation, graduate student Torbjorn Alseth (Trondheim, Norway) sent a ball into the box over the DePaul goalkeeper for teammate Stephen Elias (Rye, N.Y.) who put it into the back of the net. The contest-winning score came in the 84th minute to solidify a Pirate victory. Sophomore CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) also scored earlier in the match on a penalty kick.
SCOUTING CREIGHTON
The Hall is 2-4 all-time against Creighton since the Blue Jays entered the BIG EAST in 2013. Most recently, the teams squared off in Nebraska last year. The ninth-ranked Blue Jays captured the contest, securing a 1-0 victory with a goal in the 84th minute.Â

Creighton is 6-2-1 so far in their 2019 campaign, with three of its matches coming against ranked opponents. In their first three games, the Bluejays tied with No. 6 North Carolina, fell to No. 4 Wake Forest, and defeated No. 21 Akron. The battle tested Bluejays are guided by senior Luke Haakenson, who leads the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Creighton is also holding teams to an average of 1.33 goals per game.
