
Alexis Lewis Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Alexis Lewis (Pittston, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

Lewis had a strong offensive week for the Pirates in three games against quality opponents. On Tuesday against Atlantic 10 favorite VCU, she had 13 points on the strength of three made three-pointers. She also had five rebounds and four steals. Against Ivy League favorite Princeton on Friday, Lewis erupted for a career-high 27 points on an efficient 9-for-12 shooting from the floor. She also had seven rebounds and a team-best five steals in a strong all-around performance. On Sunday against Saint Joseph's, Lewis added 12 more points to go with four rebounds and two more steals.

For the week, Lewis averaged a team-best 17.3 points per game to go with 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals per contest. Her efforts directly led to wins in two of three games for the Pirates.

Butler's Kristen Spolyar was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Villanova's Maddy Siegrist earned Freshman of the Week recognition. In addition to Lewis, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include Villanova's Mary Gedaka, St. John's Qadashah Hoppie, DePaul's Sonya Morris and Providence's Kaela Webb.

Seton Hall will return to action on Friday when it travels to Bethlehem, Pa. for a its first true road contest of the season. The Pirates face Patriot League favorite Lehigh at 6:00 p.m. at Stabler Arena.
