
Cripps Breaks School Record in Day Three at Patriot Invitational

Fairfax, Va. - Freshman Sierra Cripps (Seymour, Conn.) continued her hot start to her freshman campaign when she broke the school record in the 200 Fly at the Patriot Invitational on Saturday. Cripps' time of 2:00.02 broke the record set by Hillary Steinour by over a second and a half (2:01.84). Cripps finished second in the final capping off her Patriot Invitational debut.
In the 200 Backstroke, junior Marianne Molloy (Toms River, N.J.) followed up her solid swim in the 400 IM on Day Two with a time of 2:01.18 in the 200 Backstroke on Day Three.
Junior Lexi Kolodgie (Baltimore, Md.) saw a big drop from her prelim to the final in the 200 Breaststroke. Kolodgie took nearly six seconds off her time after she posted a time of 2:23.34 in the event final.
As a whole the Pirates accumulated 375 points to outscore half of the competing schools in the Patriot Invitational. The Pirates will not race again until January 12, when they take on Fairfield to start the second half of the schedule.
