NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Alexis Lewis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
It's the second time she has received this conference honor in the last three weeks.
Â
Lewis was instrumental in the Pirates going 1-1 in a pair of games at the 2019 Junkanoo Jam on the Islands of Bimini in the Bahamas last week. On Thanksgiving, Lewis drilled four three-pointers in route to 14 points in a losing effort against Georgia Tech. The Pirate sharpshooter tied for the team high in scoring, but also grabbed six rebounds and collected three steals. On Friday, with Seton Hall needing to bounce back, Lewis erupted for a game-high 24 points in The Hall's three-point victory over Vanderbilt. She filled up the box score also collecting seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a team-best four steals.
Â
For the week, Lewis averaged a team-best 19.0 points per game to go with 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per contest while shooting .448 from the field. For her efforts, she was named to the 2019 Junkanoo Jam Junkanoo Division All-Tournament Team.
Â
Creighton's Jaylyn Agnew was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. St. John's Leilani Correa earned Freshman of the Week recognition. In addition to Lewis, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include DePaul's Sonya Morris, Georgetown's Brianna Jones, Marquette's Selena Lott and St. John's Alissa Alston.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Thursday when it returns to historic Walsh Gymnasium for a marquee contest against No. 4 Connecticut at 6:30 p.m. The game is completely sold out, but will be televised nationally on FS1. As always, you can also hear the game on one of the top student radio stations in the country, 89.5 FM WSOU.
