Barbara Johnson Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Barbara Johnson (Toronto, Ontario) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

She's already the fourth different Pirate this year to receive the weekly recognition.

Johnson erupted for a game-high 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting, which included 3-for-4 from three-point range in Seton Hall's dramatic, come-from-behind victory at Butler on Sunday. With the score tied at 60, she calmly sank a pair of free-throws with 1:12 left in the game to give Seton Hall its first lead, 62-60. Then, with the game tied at 62, she drilled a game-winning, go-ahead three-pointer with just 29 seconds left in the contest.

Johnson also pulled down five rebounds and dished out two assists.

Creighton's Jaylyn Agnew earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors. Villanova's Maddy Siegrist was named Freshman of the Week. In addition to Johnson, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include DePaul's Chante Stonewall, St. John's Qadashah Hoppie, Villanova's Mary Gedaka and Xavier's Sarah Leyendecker.

Seton Hall will remain on the road when it travels to Cincinnati for a BIG EAST contest at Xavier on New Year's Eve. The game will be a BIG EAST Digital Network broadcast, and of course will be provided on the radio by 89.5 FM WSOU and wsou.net. Tip-time on Tuesday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
