Gill and Powell Named to NABC Honors Court

Kansas City, Mo. - Seton Hall men's basketball rising seniors Romaro Gill (St. Thomas, Jamaica) and Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) have been named to the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court for outstanding academic achievement this past season, the organization announced Wednesday. In order to be named to the Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically, matriculated at least one year at their current institution and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the end of the 2018-19 academic year.
Gill and Powell, both majoring in Social & Behavioral Sciences, are Seton Hall's seventh and eighth all-time selections to the NABC Honors Court. Gill is now a two-time selection, joining former Pirates Patrik Auda and Michael Nzei as two-time selections at The Hall.
Only five BIG EAST schools had selections to the 2018-19 NABC Honors Court with Seton Hall representing two of the 10 total student-athletes selected.
Under 10th-year head coach Kevin Willard Seton Hall men's basketball has been successful both on the court and in the classroom. As a team, the Pirates finished 2018-19 with a grade point average above 3.0, the fourth straight year the program has been above 3.0 at spring semester's end. Last week, Seton Hall was the recipient of the 2018-19 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, one of only 10 Div. I programs in the country to both receive that award and earn a bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
