
Auda and Geramipoor Shine at 2019 FIBA World Cup

South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall men's basketball alumni Patrick Auda '13 and Aaron Geramipoor '14 recently enjoyed great success representing their countries at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
Auda, a member of the Czech Republic national team, was superb in leading the nation to a sixth-place finish in the 32-team tournament. He played in all eight games and averaged 11.4 points and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 55.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from three. In a pivotal first-round matchup against Turkey, he scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help push the Czech Republic into the knockout stage. Then against Australia in the tournament quarterfinals, he poured in a team-high 21 points.Â
Geramipoor, a member of the Iranian national team, averaged 10.4 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 69.7 percent from the field as an impact player for his nation, which finished 23rd in the tournament. Geramipoor's best game came in a group stage matchup with Tunisia as the center poured in a team-high 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting with eight rebounds in 30 minutes of action. He finished the tournament ranked second in two-point field goal percentage, making 23 of 33 attempts.
Auda, a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, appeared in 90 career games for Seton Hall. He has gone on to a very successful professional career in Europe, most recently competing for Boulazac Basket Dordogne of the French LNB Pro A. Auda

After appearing in 92 games for Seton Hall in his four-year career, Geramipoor has played professionally every year since, most recently for KK Cibona in the Croatian A-1 Liga.

Both Auda and Geramipoor were members of Willard's first postseason team at Seton Hall, the 2011-12 squad that had the top seed in the NIT.
