Louisville, Ky. - It's been 265 days since the Seton Hall men's basketball team has stepped on a court, and that streak ends Friday when the Pirates finally open the 2020-21 season at Louisville as part of the Wade Houston Tipoff Classic. Under 11th year head coach Kevin Willard, The Hall is beginning its quest for a sixth-straight 20-win season, a sixth straight BIG EAST top-three finish and a fifth straight (what should be a sixth straight) NCAA Tournament appearance.

The season begins with a matchup against the Cardinals, whom the Pirates battled in a home-and-home series back in 2017 and 2018. The road team captured each of the games as the Pirates came to the KFC Yum! Center back on Dec. 2, 2017 and came away with a 79-77 victory after Desi Rodriguez hit the game-winning layup in a lane full of traffic. Only three players from that game are still active: Myles Cale, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Louisville's Malik Williams.

Pirates fans will be introduced to some new cast members this season as the program welcomes a pair of Div. I transfers who have combined for over 2,000 career points. Graduate transfer Bryce Aiken will make his Seton Hall debut after earning his bachelor's degree at Harvard, and junior Takal Molson brings his grit to game action after practicing with the Pirates in 2019-20.
