SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of graduate transfer Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) to the program. Espinoza-Hunter will be eligible to suit up for the Pirates for the 2021-22 season.
A dynamic guard with significant experience on the highest levels of NCAA Division I basketball, Espinoza-Hunter joins The Hall after spending the last two seasons at Mississippi State. While in Starkville, she helped lead the Bulldogs to a 60-9 record overall, with a No. 1 seed and trip to the Elite-8 of the NCAA Tournament in 2019. A durable talent, Espinoza-Hunter played in all but two games at Mississippi State, raining down a total of 90 three-pointers during her time there. In the 2019 SEC Championship Game, she set a tournament record with eight made three-pointers in a rout of Arkansas.
Espinoza-Hunter began her collegiate career as a freshman with the University of Connecticut. She saw action in seven games that season as the Huskies finished 36-1 and made it to the Final Four of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
In high school, Espinoza-Hunter was a finalist for Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2017. She scored over 2,000 points in her prep career, averaging 36.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
Espinoza-Hunter comes from the same high school (Ossining) that produced former Pirate great Shadeen Samuels and current Pirate Kailah Harris (Ossining, N.Y.).Â
