Jackson Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall sophomore Mya Jackson (Wilmington, Ohio) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

Jackson was instrumental in the Pirates earning wins in two of three games last week. In the season-opener against Saint Peter's on Tuesday, Seton Hall only needed Jackson for 22 minutes in a 107-60 rout of the Peacocks. Jackson scored eight points and dished out four assists in the win. On Friday, the sophomore erupted for a career-high 27 points on an efficient 11-for-16 shooting, including 4-for-7 from three-point range, in a victory over Wagner. Jackson finished the week by leading the Pirates with 22 points on Sunday to go with three assists and two steals against Albany.

Marquette's Selena Lott earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors. Connecticut's Paige Bueckers was named Freshman of the Week. In addition to Jackson, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include DePaul's Sonya Morris, St. John's Leilani Correa, Villanova's Maddie Siegrist and Xavier's Kae Satterfield.

Seton Hall will open BIG EAST Conference play on Tuesday when it hosts No. 3 Connecticut in Walsh Gymnasium. The game will be televised on SNY, and of course will be provided on the radio by 89.5 FM WSOU and wsou.net. Tip-time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
