Bozzella to Miss Season-Opener

Seton Hall Athletics Statement

Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella will not be coaching the team's season-opener on Dec. 8, as he continues to observe and respect COVID-19 protocols. Nearly three weeks ago when the program's initial positive tests were revealed, the team was quarantined for 14 days and has since completed the protocol process. Coach Bozzella however, remains in quarantine at this time. His return to the sideline is currently indefinite and will coincide with the health and safety of those in the program and our University community at the forefront.

Assistant coach Lauren DeFalco will serve as interim head coach during Coach Bozzella's absence.

I am so proud of how our amazing young ladies, staff and managers have been able to prepare themselves for the season and continue to better themselves on a daily basis despite these challenging times. I'm truly happy that they will finally have an opportunity to play in a game, and will rest easily knowing that they're in the very capable hands of my excellent staff. I can speak first-hand that this virus should be taken very seriously. I'm thankful for the love and support I've received, and look forward to getting back on the court soon.
