SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall baseball program has announced that the 2020 Coach Mike Sheppard, Sr. Golf Outing will take place on Monday, Oct. 12 at Maplewood Country Club.
With all of its proceeds benefiting the Pirate baseball program and its student-athletes, the annual golf outing is the best way for supporters to give back to Seton Hall baseball. Complete information on the day's program and registration will be announced in the coming weeks.
The event gives fans the chance to play alongside Pirate greats and the baseball coaching staff. Seton Hall head coach Rob Sheppard will also announce the winner of the Mike Sheppard, Sr. Legacy Award. The award is presented annually to the Pirate that has best exemplified hard work hustle in the classroom, on the field, in the community and in life.
If you're interested in reserving a spot, please contact Pirate Blue's Mike Engemann at michael.engemann@shu.edu and 973-275-6445.
The 2021 Seton Hall Pirates are eager to get back on the field after its 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the cancelation, The Hall was able to debut the its renovated facility – the newly named Mike Sheppard, Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field – on March 11. On what would be the final game of the season, the Pirates defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 13-3. The Pirates bring back multiple pieces from last year's squad including Casey Dana, who led the BIG EAST with a .364 batting average and 16 RBI in 2020, Matt Toke, Connor Hood and Tyler Shedler-McAvoy. Young arms Nick Payero and Cole Patten look to build off of the strides they made in 2020 on the mound.
