Omaha, Neb. - The Pirates, winners of seven of their last eight games and off to the second-best start to their BIG EAST history, face their biggest test of the season to date Wednesday when they battle No. 7 Creighton in Omaha. It's the first meeting of the year between two of the three teams that shared the BIG EAST regular season championship last season. For the Pirates, they will now face Creighton and fellow co-champ Villanova four out of the next seven games.

Beyond sharing last year's BIG EAST championship and blue and white as their primary colors, Seton Hall and Creighton have also shared identical BIG EAST conference records in each of the last four years. Both teams went 13-5 in the championship run in 2019-20, both were 9-9 in 2018-19, 10-8 in 2017-18 and 10-8 in 2016-17.

Both teams boast one of the best players in the country. The Pirates are led by reigning BIG EAST Player of the Week Sandro Mamukelashvili, the only player in the league to rank in the top 12 in points, rebounds and assists. The Bluejays have Marcus Zegarowski, one of the top playmakers in the country who is averaging nearly three triples made per game with the shot to make many more on any given night.

It should be a fun one on FS1 as Kevin Fitzgerald and Bill Raftery lead the national telecast. The tell-it-like-they-see-it tandem of Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will have the radio call on WMCA 570 AM, simulcast on XM 385, the Pirate Sports Network and TuneIn.
