SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Head coach Clay White announced the 2022 Seton Hall men's golf spring schedule on Friday. The Pirates will participate in seven tournaments this spring.
Â
Seton Hall will open the tournament season with the Loyola Intercollegiate, Feb. 20-22, at Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz. for the sixth time in the last eight years. Historically, The Hall has shot very low scores at this event. Most recently, The Hall finished seventh among 19 teams with a 4-under-par, 290-281-289-860. Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) shot a career-best 3-under-par, 71-71-71-213, tying for 13th place among 112 individual golfers.
Â
In March, the Pirates will head to Pinehurst, N.C. for the Ross Collegiate Classic, March 7-8. Hosted by George Mason University, the event will be held at Mid Pines Golf Club. Last spring, The Hall placed eighth among 13 teams with a 37-over-par, 298-296-307-901. Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) tied for 13th place at 5-over-par individually.
Â
On March 21-22, Seton Hall will take on The Big Texan at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas for the second-straight year. The tournament is again hosted by the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. Last spring, the Pirates had one of their best tournaments of the year at this event, tying for fourth with a 15-over-par, 298-296-285-879. Ramachandran again led the Pirates individually, tying for ninth place at 2-over-par.
Â
In April, The Hall will head back to Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington for the Seattle University Invitational, April 4-5. The Pirates last traveled to Chambers Bay in 2019 and finished 14th in a talent-packed field of 18 teams with a 6-over-par, 287-280-291-858. Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) had a brilliant showing with a 3-under-par, 67-70-73-210.
Â
On April 9-10, The Hall will return to the nearby Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club for the eighth time in the last 10 years. Ramachandran recorded his second career sub-par tournament with a 3-under-par, 71-71-68-210, in 2020, the last time the Pirates played the event. As a team, the Pirates finished at 2-under-par with a 286-285-279-850. Seton Hall swept both team and individual titles in the 2017 event.
Â
The following week, The Hall will head back to the Rutherford Intercollegiate, hosted by Penn State University, April 16-17. It will be the seventh straight year for Seton Hall in the field. Last spring, the Pirates finished 13th at the Rutherford Intercollegiate with a 48-over-par, 300-295-305-900. Tait led The Hall individually at 9-over-par.
