
Ramachandran Leads Pirates in Final Round at Georgetown

BEALLSVILLE, MD. – Senior Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) fired a 1-under-par, 70, in Monday's final round to fuel the Seton Hall men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.

Ramachandran had three birdies and an eagle on the par-4, No. 6 hole to power his stellar round. For the tournament, he tied for 26th place with a 5-over-par, 78-70-70-218.

As a team, The Hall shot its second consecutive 1-over-par, 285, in round three. The Pirates finished in eighth place with an 11-over-par, 293-285-285-863. It's the sixth-lowest three-round, par-71 score in program history. Loyola ran away with the team title at 18-under-par, 19 strokes ahead of second-place Navy. Host Georgetown finished four strokes ahead of the Pirates in fourth place at 7-over-par.

Graduate student Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) was the top Pirate for the three-round event. He used three birdies and 12 pars to fuel an even-par, 71, on Monday. For the tournament, Tait tied for 10th among 65 individual golfers with an impressive 2-under-par, 72-68-71-211. It's his fifth career sub-par tournament and seventh top-10 finish.

Sophomore Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) finished up a stellar tournament with another strong round on Monday. He had five birdies on his way to an even-par, 71. For the three-round event, Sun tied for 21st  place with a 3-over-par, 71-74-71-216.

Graduate student Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) got his round off to a rough start, shooting 4-over-par through the first three holes, but bounced back in a big way, playing 2-under-par golf over the final 15 holes. He finished the final round with a 2-over-par, 73. For the tournament, Acevedo tied for 36th place with a 7-over-par, 72-75-73-220.

Rounding out the Pirate scoring was freshman Angus O'Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia). The Pirate newcomer finished out the tournament with a 4-over-par, 75, on Monday. For the event, he was 13-over-par with a 78-73-75-226.

Mr. Price combines his playing talents with the architectural expertise of Steve Smyers, architect of Chart Hills (England) recently named the number one inland course in the British Isles, Old Memorial and Southern Dunes (Florida) and Wolf Run (Indiana). The greens, tees and fairways feature a new type bentgrass that will ensure superb playing conditions year round. The course is set on rolling land with visual drama from many vantage points.

Four Streams is located on a 300-acre parcel located in the Agricultural Reserve in Montgomery County, Maryland. Four Streams is ranked as one of the top 10 courses in Maryland by Golf Digest and one of the "World's Top 1,000 Golf Courses" by Rolex. In addition, the course has been awarded a Top Golf Architecture Award for Outstanding Design in Maryland.
