
Busetto Paces Pirates on First Day of Blue Hen Invitational

REHOBOTH BEACH, DEL. – Junior Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) is 8-over-par after two rounds of the Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational and has the Seton Hall women's golf team in 10th place entering Sunday's final round.

Busetto had two birdies and 13 pars in the opening round in route to a 3-over-par, 75. In the afternoon, she had 13 more pars, but settled with a 5-over-par, 77. Through two rounds, Busetto is tied for 22nd place at 8-over-par with a 75-77-152. She trails the individual leader, Delaware's Oihana Etxezarreta, by nine strokes.

As a team, The Hall shot a 312 in the opening round, but shaved off seven strokes in the afternoon, firing a 17-over-par, 305. Entering Sunday's final round, the Pirates are in 10th place with a 41-over-par, 312-305-617. Princeton s currently the team leader at 16-over-par. BIG EAST opponents, Georgetown and St. John's are 27-over-par and 34-over-par respectively.

Freshman Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) shot a 6-over-par, 78, in round one. She had three birdies in the afternoon as she shaved off three strokes for a 3-over-par, 75, in round two. Currently, she's just one stroke behind Busetto, tied for 25th place, with a 9-over-par, 78-75-153.

Senior Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) shot an 8-over-par, 80, in round one. She shaved off four strokes in the afternoon to finish with a 4-over-par, 76. Entering round three, Fouratt is tied for 36th with a 12-over-par, 80-76-156.

Another Pirate with a much-improved second-round was graduate student Margot Bechadergue (Aix-En-Provence, France). After shooting a 9-over-par, 81, in the morning, she was four strokes better in the afternoon, finishing with a 5-over-par, 77. Bechadergue is currently 14-over-par with an 81-77-158.

Ginevra Ricciardelli (Rome, Italy) shot a 7-over-par, 79, in round one and an 8-over-par, 80, in round two. For the tournament, the sophomore is 15-over-par with a 79-80-159.

Playing as an individual, Sasha Amelang (Houston, Texas) is currently 30-over-par with an 84-90-174.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Delaware, the field is comprised of 10 other teams including: Bucknell, Delaware State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Navy, Pennsylvania, Princeton and Richmond. BIG EAST opponents Georgetown and St. John's are also a member of the field.

The Format:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

The Schedule:
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday, and one, final round on Sunday. For Saturday's rounds, the Pirates will be paired with golfers from Delaware and Princeton with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round pairings will be determined by the golfers' Saturday performance with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
