Â
The Field:
In addition to Seton Hall and host Delaware, the field is comprised of 10 other teams including: Bucknell, Delaware State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Navy, Pennsylvania, Princeton and Richmond. BIG EAST opponents Georgetown and St. John's are also a member of the field.
Â
The Format:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
Â
The Lineup:
Seton Hall will be bringing the entire team to compete at Delaware. The lineup and list of individuals is below, in order as indicated:
Â
Last Time Out:
Graduate student Margot Bechadergue (Aix-en-Provence, France) fired an even-par, 72, in the final round to guide the Pirates to a third-place finish at the 2021 Princeton Invitational on Sept. 26.
Â
Bechadergue had only two blemishes on an otherwise dazzling final round, a bogey on the par-5, No. 4 hole, and a double-bogey on the par-4, No. 16 hole. She had three birdies and 13 pars in route to an even-par, 72, the top Pirate round of the day. For the tournament, she finished at 1-over-par with a 69-76-72-217. Bechadergue tied for sixth place among 70 individual golfers for her second straight top-10 finish in as many tournaments as a Pirate.
Â
As a team, Seton Hall shot a 12-over-par, 300, in the final round on Sunday to finish third among 13 competing teams. The Pirates fired a 19-over-par, 292-291-300-883, for the two-day event, finishing 19 strokes behind the host and team champion, Princeton.Â
Â
Last Time at Rehoboth Beach:
Lizzie Win shot a 2-over-par, 74, in the final round to lift the Pirates to a second-place finish at the 2019 Delaware Lady Blue Hen Invitational. Win used birdies on holes No. 7, No. 11 and No. 13 to power her team-best final round. For the tournament, she tied for sixth place with a 6-over-par, 72-76-74-222.Â
Â
As a team, the Pirates shot an uncharacteristically high 24-over-par, 312, in round three, but it was largely due to poor weather conditions in Rohoboth Beach. The field had to contend with the cold, rain and 20 mph winds on Sunday, and as a result, scores were high across the board. The Pirates were still able to hold down a second-place finish, completing the two-day event with a 29-over-par, 285-296-312-893. The Hall finished 29 strokes behind the team champion, Pennsylvania.Â
Â
The Schedule:
The field will play two continuous rounds on Saturday, and one, final round on Sunday. For Saturday's rounds, the Pirates will be paired with golfers from Delaware and Princeton with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round pairings will be determined by the golfers' Saturday performance with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
