SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Boston College transfer Allie Palmieri (Trumbull, Conn.) to the program.Â
Â
Palmieri will have a minimum of three years of remaining eligibility and begin playing for The Hall in the fall of 2022.
Â
"We recruited Allie really hard when she was in high school, so we definitely know the quality of player and person we're getting," Bozzella said. "I'm really looking forward to having her join us. She'll be a perfect fit for our program."
Â
Palmieri joined Boston College for the spring semester last year after graduating early from high school. The 5-foot-10 guard played in seven games, averaging 2.9 points per contest. She had a career-high nine points against Pittsburgh on Feb. 16.
Â
Palmieri was named 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Connecticut. She'll be the second Connecticut Player of the Year joining the Pirates next fall. Incoming freshman Shailyn Pinkney received the prestigious Gatorade distinction in 2021. Palmieri averaged 24.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 2.3 assists per game as a junior at Green Farms Academy. She was ranked among the top-100 players nationally coming out of high school by the Dan Olson Collegiate Report, Blue Star Basketball and the All-Star Girls Report. An All-State and All-Conference selection, Palmeiri is also an outstanding student, maintaining nearly a perfect grade point average.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, Dec. 31 when it resumes BIG EAST Conference play at Villanova. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
