Sidney Cooks Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK –Seton Hall senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Cooks had arguably her best game as a Pirate in Seton Hall's only contest last week. The 6-foot-4 center erupted for a double-double in Seton Hall's 70-62 victory over Wagner on Dec. 21. Cooks finished with 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. She also set a career-high with six blocks, which ties her for third on the all-time Seton Hall single-game list. Cooks' 14 rebounds were the most by any BIG EAST player last week.

DePaul's Aneesah Morrow was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Members of the Weekly Honor Roll include Butler's Celena Taborn, Creighton's Morgan Maly, DePaul's Lexi Held, Marquette's Jordan King and Villanova's Maddy Siegrist.

Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, December 31, when it travels to local BIG EAST foe Villanova. Tip time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live by the BIG EAST Digital Network for FloSports subscribers.
