
Rhoden Scores 14, Pirates Struggle at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Jared Rhoden (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored 14 points, but the Seton Hall men's basketball team struggled offensively all night in a 61-52 loss to Butler Wednesday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Rhoden finished 6-for-14 from the field and also had four rebounds. He was joined in double-digit scoring by senior Sandro Mamukelashvili (Tbilisi, Georgia), who had 11 points.

Seton Hall remains in third place in the BIG EAST Conference with a 10-7 record.

Seton Hall was up seven early and went into halftime leading Butler, 26-24, but the Bulldogs came out in the second half with a 10-1 run, punctuated by Jair Bolden making three free throws after a shooting foul was called.

Seton Hall was just 2-for-11 from the field to start the second half, allowing the Bulldogs to extend their lead into double digits with their run stretching from 10-1 to 20-6. The Pirates got as close as seven, 44-37, with 10:07 remaining, but the Pirates then went three more minutes without scoring and just could not find a rhythm.
