JOHNS CREEK, GA. – Freshman Ginevra Ricciardelli (Rome, Italy) is even-par through two rounds and has paced the Seton Hall women's golf team to a seventh-place tie on Monday with 18 holes remaining at the Georgia State Invitational.
Â
Ricciardelli was brilliant on Monday, using four birdies to shoot a 2-over-par, 74, in round one, and then recording her first career sub-par round in round two. In her dazzling afternoon 18, she collected three birdies and a team-best 14 pars in route to a 2-under-par, 70. For the tournament, she is tied for fifth among 89 individual golfers with an even-par, 74-70-144. She trails the individual leader, Xavier's Abby Kiefer by six strokes with 18 holes to go.
Â
As a team, The Hall carded a 13-over-par, 301, in the opening round, and followed it up with a 16-over-par, 304, in round two. For the tournament, the Pirates are 29-over-par with a 301-304-605. BIG EAST rival Xavier is the team leader in the clubhouse at 7-over-par.
Â
Graduate students Lizzie Win (Sylvania, Ohio) and Maddie Sager (Phoenixville, Pa.) are currently tied for 26th place at 8-over-par. Win had a fantastic first round, collecting two birdies and 14 pars on the way to an even-par, 72, in the morning, but struggled in the afternoon, settling with an 8-over-par, 80. Sager shot a 5-over-par, 77, in the morning, and shaved two strokes off that score in the afternoon. She registered four birdies in round two for a 3-over-par, 75.
Â
Senior Mia Kness (Venetia, Pa.) had three birdies in the first round in route to a 6-over-par, 78. In the afternoon, she needed one additional stroke to finish with a 7-over-par, 79. Currently, she is 13-over-par with a 78-79-157.
Â
Junior Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) rounded out the Pirates' lineup with a pair of 8-over-par, 80s, on Monday. With one round to go, she is 16-over-par with an 80-80-160.Â

Â
Rivermont has been honored to host nearly thirty qualifiers for the United States Golf Association (local qualifying for the US Open and sectional qualifying for the US Senior Open, the US Mid-Amateur, the US Women's Mid-Amateur and the Men's Four-Ball Championship) as well as more than a dozen Atlanta Amateur Championships for the Georgia State Golf Association. We have also hosted events for the Georgia Section of the PGA, the Atlanta Junior Golf Association and the Southern Golf Association. In 2018, Rivermont hosted the Georgia State Golf Association Junior Championship in June and in 2019 Rivermont Golf Club received an award as the "Best Golf Club" in Johns Creek. In 2023, Rivermont will host the Georgia State Amateur Championship.
