4/27/2021 4:21:00 PM | Men's Golf
BOWLING GREEN, FLA. – Junior Deven Ramachandran (San Rafeal, Calif.) and freshman Brody Hanley (Lantana, Texas) each shot an even-par, 72, to power the Seton Hall men's golf team in round two of the  2021 BIG EAST Championship at Streamsong Resort on Tuesday.
Â
Ramachandran was three-over-par through the first seven holes, but was brilliant from then on. The junior was 3-under-par over his final 11 holes, which included a birdie on hole No. 13 and an eagle on No. 14. Entering Wednesday's final round, Ramachandran is in 20th place at 4-over-par with a 76-72-148.
Â
Hanley didn't participate in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship, but proved to be a major shot in the arm in round two. The Pirate newcomer had three birdies and was consistently even-par on both the front and back nines.
Â
Collectively, the Pirates took a step forward on Tuesday, shaving five strokes off their first-round score to card a 3-over-par, 291. It was the second-best team round of the day, and enabled The Hall to climb one spot in the standings to fourth place. Through 36 holes, Seton Hall is 11-over-par with a 296-291-587.Â
Â
Connecticut is the current team leader at 1-over-par. Marquette is in second at 3-over-par, and Butler is just one stroke ahead of the Pirates at 10-over-par.
Â
Senior Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) shaved a stroke off his first-round score to finish with a 1-over-par, 73. Tait had a team-high four birdies on Tuesday, including his final of the day, the par-4, 18th hole. Through two rounds, he is tied for 15th place at 3-over-par with a 74-73-147.
Â
Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) birdied his first two holes of the day in route to a 2-over-par, 74, on Tuesday. The senior is still the Pirates' top competitor for the Championship and is currently tied for seventh place among all golfers at even-par with a 70-74-144.
Â
Butler's Michael Cascino remains the individual leader at 6-under-par.
Â
Rounding out the Pirates' lineup on Tuesday was junior Peter Tyler Po (Nasipit Cebu City, Philippines), who logged his second consecutive 4-over-par, 76. Po was even-par through 11 holes, but struggled a bit down the stretch to finish at 4-over. For the tournament, he's 8-over-par with a 76-76-152.
